Hello,

I have an older Merc E350 estate just got back into caravaning after 20 year break. The detachable towbar has 12S socket on a swing down backplate I just added 12S electrics but am struggling on how to mount 2 sockets in the detachable swan neck bar. Any ideas please???

Don't mount two old style N/S 7 pin sockets on tow bar, mount one current style 13 pin socket and either change to 13 pin plug on caravan lead or use 13-2x7 adaptor to connect to van.

The 13 pin sockets seem to be more reliable than the old 7 pin ones, and they've been preferred fitment since around 2008 IIRC. If correctly wired, you'll have all the functionality possible for all lights, power and charging for van battery etc.
