We’ve noticed this on site - father drives the caravan to the site after work alone, gets it sited, hooked up to EHU, water on etc, sometimes even the awning, then he drives off. Next day, same car full of family, dog etc arrives & the caravan is ready. Not seen mum doing the “advance party” job but I’m sure they do.
We bought a set of bedding and towels for the caravan. We also keep enough dried/ tinned food and clothes to see us over a long weekend so if we want to just hitch up and go we can. If going longer then everything else gats thrown in car. On our return van goes straight into storage. Any perishable food and washing is removed and thrown into car. Once the washing has been done at home I pay a visit to the storage site, make sure caravan is clean and tidy ( we use a cordless stick vacuum cleaner). Put the bedding away and restock tinned / dried foods so it’s all ready for the next trip

If you need to travel with clothes etc in the car, collapsible storage boxes are excellent. We store our caravan on our drive but leave bedding and towels in all year round, the caravan is not heated.

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.
Our van is also stored some miles from home and not possible to bring home. From February each year to End of September, the van is kept in a state of readiness, everthing loaded apart from clothes, and clean bedding. Typically day before any adventure we pack the van with clothes etc, and prepare the bedding etc.
For coming home clothes packed into bags, and placed into the car, this eases re storing the van after an adventure.
For wintering all cloths and bedding removed and sodt furnishings stood up to allow for air to circulate. Water taps kept open, along with water drains.
Toilet flush water emptied, small amounbt of toilet blue put into cassette, and foul water container. Curatin drwan but not blinds. Hitch covered, and tyres inflated 5 pis past normal running.
Never had an issue with tis set up, and all good yr to yr.
All this just reminds me of how lucky we are to be able to store caravan plus car at the side of the house with plenty of room to walk around and to plug van into garage.
My son keeps his TA in storage but can park it outside his house for a couple of days before use.
I have nothing but admiration for the intrepid folks who can't bring their vans home but soldier on regardless
