I may be about to open a hornets' nest here, and I apologise if it's been opened before. I couldn't find a thread.
The question is "To cover or not to cover your caravan for winter". Any views would be welcome, as I have seen so many arguments that I am totally confused.
The follow-up question is "should I use a dehumidifier as well/instead?"
The caravan is a 2006 Avondale Dart 470/2, and it lives outside on the driveway in South Norfolk.
As well is two words!

A dehumidifier only works successfully in a closed environment, and a caravan is not and cannot be one of those, therefore they are a waste of time.
I used a "breathable" cover one winter and the caravan was more mouldy then without, therefore I no longer use one and ensure adequate ventilation. Plus I now have a solar panel on the roof and a cover would stop that working.
We store without a cover, as it creates more issues with. Just a damn good wash before storing over winter with a good coat of polish/wax, then a good wash in spring to remove any dirt.
We hang silica gel packs up over winter, probably do nothing really but makes us feel better.
remove all bedding and upturn seats and backs to allow air to move freely, close curntain and leave blinds rolled up.
leave taps open, and drain taps also.
never had an issue doing this in over 10 yrs caravaning.
