I’m looking to buy my first caravan. I’m looking to invest in a decent classic caravan as I’ve always been a fan of classic cars and bikes and I’m hoping it won’t depreciate as much as newer model.
I’ve found loads of useful threads on here but I’m going to have lots of questions!
The first is what are the best makes for a stylish classics? I’m looking to find something with original features not a pimped up “vintage” paint job and have a budget of £5k.
I’ve seen an early 80’s Cotswold Windrush which is a bit younger than I’d like but have read good things on here about them and it looks good.
Any thoughts appreciated re this and other good quality classic makes to look out for.
the best? well your looking at carlight or vanroyce is a close second, but they do tend to be heavy so without us knowing what your tow car is or when you passed your driving test its impossible to advice other than which ever caravan you get make sure you go armed with a damp meter and check every last inch of any caravan over, check the tyres for age and condition, along with any service history if it has any,
Thanks I’ll take a look at both, I’ve not come across either in my searches.
In regards to towing this isn’t so important as I’m planning to keep it permanently at one sight once situated. I do have a small van but is an hire something to move it.
Have a look on Google or Youtube at Vanroyce caravans, They look amazing and are supposedly very sturdy. But also very heavy, you would need a big heavy car to tow one .
That's a very good point, I hadn't thought of that! I will take a look into the weights for both. They're both exactly what I'm looking for in terms of period/styling.
I found a great one but it's had the 'vintage' touch - all the original wood is covered in paint, not sure how easy it'll be to remove.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
