hi any one fitted a spare wheel underneath there folding caravan i want to fit one under it has sloping front and rear floor at each end thought i could bolt one on to either front or rear as it slopes would give me plenty of ground clearance from the road it sits in my front locker box at the moment but would like the space for other thing,s

If it has an Al Ko chassis, it may have the mounts for their carrier.

You'd need to know the floor could take the weight of a wheel bouncing off it. How would you actually fix it up there? Can it not be just thrown in the van in a bin liner for traveling? (im assuming you have no space in the car boot?).

Think some of the Eriba’s had a BPW chassis. Should have the mounting points on the chassis for a spare wheel carrier. Is there one listed in the Erika sales literature/manual for your van, if so should be OK

Just a little information to ponder..
If, God forbid, you did have to change the wheel...
Take into account the fact that you will have to be crawling on the floor underneath to get the spare out.
Add in the fact that if you don't use the spare for a couple of years, or longer, then the road grit and muck and dust can help to make it a pig of a job to release the wheel.

I have hindsight registered at 20/20

So take it off now and save about 26kg of pay load. I had all the time in the world to remove ours, and it was a cow to get off. The van wasnt on the floor with a puncture, nor was i against a kerb, that makes it nigh on impossible. I'd read the horror stories of folk struggling to remove them so got in before i needed to. Now the wheel lives in the back of the truck till the van goes away for the winter. The cradle is in the garage till the time i sell the van. Which also gives more clearance into the bargain.
