As standard a Tracker came with our caravan but in our opinion it was as good as a chocolate tea pot as it was reactive. We had the Phantom Tracker fitted and it is proactive. If anyone interferes with the caravan we are notified straight away. Phantom also contact the police who will take instruction as to the location as they are recognised by the police. Worth every penny for peace of mind!

Thanks looking at the phantom Pro active 3 looks the best one but not cheap
Agreed however if you are able to pay upfront for the 5 years you can save a bit otherwise it is about £11 a month for the subscription. It can be transferred to another caravan and they transfer the subscription. Can one put a price on peace of mind?
Just to add. Ours is at the dealer and yesterday the dealer took it into the workshop and before working on it they disconnected the battery. Even though the tracker was not switched on we were contacted by Phantom to advise on a power down. Excellent service.
Plenty of trackers on the market, but don't think the insurance companies will generally acknowledge most DIY fitments and/or self monitored types to give any premium discount. Needs to be recognised product and professionally fitted/monitored, which equates to quite expensive fit and ongoing charges.
Some people are of the opinion that if their van is stolen (often by a certain sector of the population!), they really don't want it back!

What they do not realise is that if the insurance locate the caravan before there is a payout, unless badly damaged they will have no option except to take it back.
