New the caravanning world and have a question.
Firstly, i have been lookinbg for an alko wheel lock for the van as it has a chassis receptor for one. The alko site doesn;t have an entry for 2010 so wondered if anyone could give me some advice as to whether an alko wheel lock is actually available?
I see what you mean, there are eight years not listed.
Did you look at the pictures of the alloys to see if yours was on there?
If not why not drop them an email vis their Contact Us page, they used to respond pretty quickly to emails.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Images on Google for 2010 show it having a BPW hitch.
Probably why it's not listed in Alko, strange though the OP says it has an Alko receiver.

I don't know much about BPW equipment but Alko chassis have a plate on them showing the manufacturer details and serial number, there is also a plate on the axle with a serial number. I presume BPW chassis would be marked in a similar way, alko sometimes have the alko name stamped in to the chassis itself. Is there any information in the handbook about the chassis manufacturer and security equipment? If all else fails try looking at pictures on Google or at old brochures etc to find out the chassis details.
Just to confuse matters further, I believe AlKo did a retro fit AL-KO Secure receptor for chassis (presumably ONLY AlKo chassis!) not fitted with the receptor at manufacture, the kit contained a new brake back plate, with the lock receiver and a wheel specific insert, it was only available to be fitted by dealers.
Can't find any mention of it now in current info, but may account for why the van physically has the receptor but is not listed in the insert fittings list as wouldn't normally be an option. I know the insert lozenge varies to suit specific wheels, but not sure if the bolt length also does to cope with differing offsets.
The lozenge insert is a 'perfect' fit in the matched wheel, so something 'similar looking' may not actually fit, I think if going down the visually trying to match wheel route, you may need to try the insert before purchase, or have the option of a refund if it doesn't fit.
For what it's worth, I can't argue that they are one of the most secure wheel locks available, but fitting the damn thing is a right PITA! You have to have the wheel rotation absolutely spot on aligned, there is no latitude, that's OK(ish) with a motor mover, but more challenging if manually pushing and shoving van and I would imaging a total lost cause if trying to align with van still attached to car!
Does it have to be that type of wheel lock? There are many different types available and many are easier to fit and cheaper too.
In my opinion, what you need to do is make it difficult for the casual thief, and virtually any wheel lock will do that. If a "professional" thief wants your caravan, he will have it no matter what devices you fit. They will have the equipment with them to remove anything. Nothing is impossible for the "professional" to remove.

I am sure that Elddis were using the BPW chassis up until 2018. Our 2016 had the BPW chassis and our current 2018 ALKO chassis. I think you need the Diamond locks for the BPW chassis? Great big blue ones. Relatively easy to fit. I have no idea of size or configuration for the lozenge. You would need to ask an Elddis dealer.

I Think Elddis used both over the years. My 1992 Elddis Wisp has an ALKO chassis and so did my 1988 Tornado XL that I had before the Wisp.
