Hi all watched a guy put up a blow up awning the other day.
He was using a type of rope and pulley piece of kit which fitted in the channel. Has anyone seen this before if so how much.

On a personal note, I wouldn't bother with one.
On both awnings we have, I've just tied a piece of guy rope to the end of the awning bead, easy to pull through without the need of steps or the like.

However macquatic is saying its a bit of a pfaf to use.
So I am having a rethink.

I purchased one 2 years ago after watching a short video on YouTube which you may find helpful. Personally I think it's a good bit of kit especially when the OH has a physical disability and finding it difficult to assist trying to feed the heavy air awning material through the awning rail.
I too looked into these when we bought our awning. Looked a bit of a faf to be honest. So opted for a good strong twined 1.5 mtr dog lead, with swivel head, to pull it on. Works great👌👌👌👍.

We have a long peg puller that does the job. Takes both of us, of course, one to feed the awning into the rail. the other to pull it along. Works for us.
I think that awning pulley must put a great deal of strain on a small section of the rail.
If the awning bead should jamb as it is being fed in (in my experience that always happens at least a couple of times) I would worry that a strong pull could cause damage.

Depends - probably not worth it if there are two of you. If you are are your own - it is difficult to feed awning at one end and pull the awning at the other unless you have a 12ft reach with your arms (but then I would caravaning with the circus!).
Bit late to this post, as I've been away and with very limited www access and now catching up. I made my own version of the Kampa pulley with bits and bobs I already mostly had, so minimal cost.
As has been said, it's pretty redundant if two of you fitting awning and both reasonably able, one pulling bead (by whatever means) and other feeding bead into rail, BUT if doing it on your own, it can be the difference between an easy fit and a real struggle!
I use mine with my heavy air porch awning, which tends to drag itself under it's own weight back out of the rail at entry point if I let go to go and pull on other end, but the pulley system allows a constant pull on far end whilst feeding bead into rail, as said, no 12ft arms needed, nor running back and forth from far end to entry point. I did fit my awning once before I got the pulley and it was very hard going!
As to damaging the rail, if correctly fitted, the strain applied is in line with the rail, so very little leverage to prise rail from body/fixings or warp it.
As well as my heavy air awning, I've got a light weight poled porch awning, and I find no need to use the pulley when fitting that on my own.
As to the worth of the pulley, very much down to whether one of more fitting awning, ability of people and weight of awning, I certainly wouldn't be without mine when solo and using heavy awning.
its deffo a help if you are on your own and vertically challenged like me. I use mine for my air awning as as stated they are heavy and cumberson trying to do it on your own is hard but with the pully set it up attach to awning along to pully then walk back to front of van and you can feed the awning in and pull it through from the same position rewinding the cord as you do it
