I am in the Aberdeen area on the way north. I need a town centre park up for a van and caravan. Do we have any local traffic updates, please?
I am looking to get down to the North link port at 17,00hrs, but there is no waiting area there. I see on the North link site, there are road works at the docks, which complicates things even more.
After doing a 12-hour drive, I don't want to be late loading and with winter weather you need to be reasonably quick.
I was looking at getting up earlier that day and parking at the Beach boulevard shopping centre on links road, or aiming for the area of industrial units off Waterloo way or Wellington way and finding a lorry park up area or lorry sized space. My other idea was out of town but still sat on the A956 Wellington road, say by the ALDI on the Harness road island or further down by the screw fix on Gridleness road. But that all depends on traffic and road works and ease of port access and distance.
As you can tell, I have Google mapped the life out of the area, but nothing beats local knowledge. Any tips for a Friday afternoon North link loading?
if you havent found anywhere by now try on greyhope road there are a couple of parking areas that dont appear to have any height restrictions or gates on them around torrie battery, between the 2 breakwaters
There is a UKCS member living outside Aberdeen, but like me they might have been out shopping because it’s Hogmanay tomorrow, as you know. And like me, they’re not checking here every 15 minutes. So I might suggest It was a wee bit late to be asking for the information… Anyway, you’re on the ship now so you’re sorted. Have a great time up north.
The first post reads incorrectly. We have yet to travel up, and I tried to write it in a way to be ambiguous about the dates for home security. It reads as if it's here and now. It is, in fact, soon within this winter, time scale. Sorry.
Thank you all for the replies. It's trying to find a car park with an easy and big entrance and no head height restrictions or an industrial street parking area. Where I can sit for a couple of hours without too much hassle. But still walk the dog and stretch my legs.

well take a look at the one i said about, as no height restrictions, plenty of room with the caravan for turning around and parking up and then the added thing of a nice walk along the water front for walking the dog and only a quick drive to the ferry terminal maybe 5 mins away if that
