I've certainly never found lunch breaks to be a problem, but then we rarely arrive anywhere before 2pm and NEVER on a Friday or Saturday. Our favourite arrival day is Monday, just after all the weekenders have departed. Sites tend to be quieter then, many of the "best" pitches are vacant, and the staff aren't too busy checking in dozens of others. It's one of the advantages of being retired.
I review our C&CC membership every year, and I think a time may be coming when we give up on it completely, as the disadvantages may start to outweigh the advantages. I feel they are becoming far more of a business than a club.
I have been researching for sites for June 2024, and found the club sites are cheaper than independent sites in the same area, largely for their per person pricing structure.

You are lucky because in the area where we want to visit which is near Christchurch, the commercial sites are a good deal cheaper and have better facilities and that is in June.
A few years ago Club sites were the 1st thing we checked when planning a trip. Not any more!
To us they are little more than a glorified car park which are excessively overpriced.
To the Club EHU is the Bible! If you're self sufficient and don't really need EHU then you get a £5 discount on pitch fee but still pay full wack per person.
We used to insure the van with them but the renewal quote this year was quite frankly ridiculous!
I'm well aware that for some the Club can do absolutely nothing wrong and would never go elsewhere.
We remain members for the CL's and Rallies and nothing else.
It varies enormously which sites are cheapest. One thing that can make club sites expensive for us is the fact that the C&CC have low, mid, and high seasons, whereas most commercial sites we have been to have only low and high seasons. The times we tend to go never fall in the C&CC low season, they always fall in mid season, and often mid season isn't a lot different to high. That was the reason the club site we had wanted to go to in 2019 was far more expensive than the commercial site we did go to. We went for the first two weeks in July which was mid season to the C&CC but low season for the commercial site, whose high season was just the school holiday period. Strange that the club site was full when we tried to book but the commercial site was half empty. It was one of the best sites we have ever stayed on too.

Easter use to in the low season now all school holidays are high season. It's nice to find sites at are a lot cheaper with good shop
A shop is certainly not a decision decider for us, in fact, other than in France, never been on a site in this country with a shop.

Taddiford Farm towards Milford is a good one in that area. Plenty of room, and not over-expensive. Nice cliff top walks, if a little remote though.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
