Hi and welcome to the forum. It sounds like you are on the right track, lack of power to the pump, and my guess is a bit of corrosion somewhere, the switch, wiring or connectors. If you can track them back, look very carefully for verdigris, that green oxide that forms with repeated signs of damp om copper.
Try bridging out bits of the the circuit with a piece of wire and see where it is working ok and where it fails. Remember, this could also be on the negative return side too, not just the positive feed, it needs a full circuit to work properly.
