We are intending to sell our caravan possibly through a dealer. Due to our location we are looking at Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire. Has anyone had positive experience of selling through dealers in these counties when not purchasing a replacement caravan. The caravan is 10 years old, in immaculate condition and is clear of damp.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.
The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.
If you have access to a caravan magazine there will probably be quite a few adverts for dealers wanting to buy caravans. I don't have any personal recommendations unfortunately. I have watched a few vlogs recently on YouTube purporting to give views on the current market. There seems to be a lot of vans for sale and prices are not as firm as they were a year or so ago. This might mean some are willing to buy but others not so you may have to phone a few. You can obviously do an online search for your caravan to to get an idea of what they are selling for. If you selling to a dealer you will probably get about 75/80% of what they will advertise it for. I think if you don't want to sell privately, selling to a dealer is usually the only other option. It has the advantage of being quite a quick, and usually painless process. Hope it goes well for you.
Early last year we sold outr tourer in order to purchase a motorhome. We used 'We buy any leisure vehicle'. They are part of the Burton caravan centre group. They offered us a very good price and stuck to that price when they came to inspect it. We were more than pleased with the service we received and would recommend them
A Lunar Cosmos 525 2014. 5 berth, double dinette. The Cosmos is a dealer special based on a Lunar Quasar with 40 watt external gas bbq point, larger Heiki roof light, 3 speed omnivemt fan, heavy duty steadies, and more. The shower and fitted carpet have never been used. It also has a Powrtouch motormover, Alko wheel lock and Alko hitchcock. We've had it from new and have full history.

The bottom has fallen out of the second hand market and dealer's forecourts are full of caravans. As Lunar went into administration a couple of years ago that may make it a bit more difficult?
Go onto Caravanfinder website to find out the average price for a caravan like yours and then advertise it privately on here and other publications.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
As a starter, I would get it serviced, which will include a full damp check.
If it is damp free, (within accepted tolerances), this is an very important buying point for any future buyer.
Now give it a good clean and, at first, put an add on here, and on Gumtree and Preloved. These sites are free and you should get a better price for a private sale than you will from a dealer, who will obviously want their mark up. If no success, and you want a quick sale, try the dealer route.
I'll send an email to the admins also but in case any of them read this: is there a way to allow exchange of contact details please? I may be interested in this.

SamandRose. Hopefully they can release my email address, not sure I'm allowed to put any details on here. We should probably get it back next week so I can take photos. I'll advertise it on this site first so you'll be able to see it.

Thanks Jean. Yes, probably best you don't share your personal details here. I've sent a message to Admin so hopefully they'll agree to share my email address with you. Otherwise I'll keep looking out at the ads next week.

I part exchanged with The Caravan Place about two years ago, Mark was sound, they have a contact box on their website, if you accurately describe it, they will email you a price and as long as the van is as described they don't try haggling.
Word of warning though, caravan prices are dropping quite a bit so you won't get as much as you may think
