Having now taken possession of our lovely Bailey Phoenix 640 2020 caravan, there's something we'd appreciate some help with. It's.....the bin situation, or lack of convenient place thereof🤦Not being fans of having to have a bin stuck out in the awning, especially at night, we'd like to be able to fit one on the caravan door. The stumbling block is the really daft little, awkward shaped effort at the bottom of the door not allowing enough space above it, (on the bottom half of the door that is), unless it's removed. Has anybody removed theirs and if so, was it a simple task that didn't damage the door? Any help would be very gratefully received peeps. We REALLY do love this lovely van that a chap in our storage site thought was brand new when we swapped it over last week😄Very happy with it all apart from the bin dilemma😉

we have that silly little thing on the door of our caravan, its no good for putting rubbish in so the dogs poo baggs go in there handy for the walks, ive just ordered this to use on our door, but it can also be moved to the kitchen doors too when cooking , https://www.temu.com/uk/wall-mounted-hanging-kitchen-trash-can-foldable-waste-bin-........

Thanks for your reply Marg6, I've seen those on Amazon but where our stupid thing is, it's too low,(right at the bottom of the door), to be able to hang anything on let alone a little 'sensible ' bin. It needs to be completely removed to have any chance of getting anything sensible on there. Don't fancy hanging it on the sink unit door but they do look like lovely little bins👍Have seen quite a few that would fit without the silly thing on there🤦Just hoping that somebody has managed to get theirs off and can tell me how to do it🙏

see for me my prep area has a cupboard door right under it so i plan on putting it on that, as i can see if it was on the door then its just going to get broken off, or worst case is that the plastic on the door gets broken and i know which one is cheaper to fix

We have a 440 - removed the daft 'magazine' bin - it was quite easy but does require a deal of force - a flat non-sharp knife helps. You are left with the holes left previously occupied by the push-in fittings. We sourced a genuine Hartal replacement from Renishaw caravan accessories - https://www.discountawnings.co.uk. Way cheaper than elsewhere and very easy to fit - you will need a willing helper. When I get around to it I'm going to glue some screw caps over the holes. There are cheaper alternatives to the hartal bin available on Amazon and Ebay and also probably from your local accessory store.

Thanks so much for that jaiash, now all I have to do is persuade my reluctant hubby to do the deed and risk it😄 He also pointed out that there will be holes left but I pointed out that some may yet be covered by a suitably sized bin but your idea of popping some little screw caps over them sounds ideal anyway. We've just booked a 3 night stay away to test everything out while it's under the 6 month warranty but I fear MY bin ideas may not have happened before we do that in a weeks time🙄Might borrow our little bathroom bin for that trip that may have to end up in the flippin' awning during the day and popped into the washroom or shower overnight for the evening bits to go in🙄But..... I will NOT give up on getting MY bin😂

So.....now that our annual 3 weeks in Cornwall is fast approaching,(thank heavens), my hubby decided to revisit the door bin possibility🤦And having now decided to not tackle the removal of the ridiculously tiny so called magazine holder on the bottom of the caravan door, he decided that a bin he'd ordered,(and one I'd been looking at when I posted the original post on this), WOULD still be able to fit on after seeing a chap doing exactly that on YouTube! But peeps....... We do now have a door bin after all that our son fitted for us today😂No longer will we need to stand our nice little compact swingtop bin in the shower🤗Cannot wait for Cornwall!!!!!!!

Ours has a proper bin on the door, the same as the Unicorns. 8t must have been fitted on later models.
We purchased and fitted the folding w9rktop extension from Prima Leisure along with, washing up bowl and drainer kit.
Bailey don't supply them on Phoenix range.
Also bought the jack and brackets, but you do get a spare wheel!
Dealer fitted external gas and electric outlets.
Still another Unicorn was £12,000 more!

We already inherited the draining board gizmo when we bought ours,(2020 model so four years old when we bought it last September) but we did also buy the worktop extension from Prima Leisure after our test trip away and realised I really needed it. Cannot wait for our annual three weeks in beautiful Cornwall🤗

I have a little ikea bin that sits on the ledge near the door in my 420.

We had used a small Carver swingtop bin that we sat in the shower right next to the kitchen but my hubby decided he wasn't keen on that arrangement🙄Hence the reason we now have the one on the door which I'm also quite happy with🤗
