Where is it advertised? I might be tempted, although I'd have to sell the Freedom first.

Just as well I can't see it, so I WON'T be tempted! Before I can see the Freedom I still have to sort out a water ingress problem. I have never heard of a Gobur having an issue with leaks.....

I did consider a Gobur when first looking to move up from tents to some form of 'more luxurious' camping, and visited the factory/showroom, had a very long chat with one of the staff, despite not being one to fall for salesmen's BS patter, he did convince me that leaks were virtually unheard of if the seals were kept in good order.

Now how can it be that a caravan that is little more than a collection of moveable joints can be virtually leak proof, yet a near hermetically sealed at the factory conventional caravan is almost guaranteed to leak withing a few years! - BTW, I know the answer! Not terribly good design and often shoddy workmanship!

Works in the same countless century proven way, just as our houses roof tiles, and even banana leafed huts etc, overlap in the right way.

Not rely solely on the enduring integrity of sealing compounds on joints between ridged panel that will inevitably flex relative to each other, as the temperature changes, and here with our caravans we bump along travelling the roads.

Even the caravan industry more widely once used this foolproof technique, just overtime they in general drifted away from it in the vain belief in the sealants that came available, and their artisan's to consistently use them properly.

That's kind of you bofs, thank you. I think I just need to try to establish the cause of the leaks in the Freedom before selling it. My conscience won't let me sell a duff item. Appointment at a local AWS/NCC approved caravan workshop on Wednesday so I'm hoping they will be able to shed some light on the problem and solve this frustrating mystery.

So, can't even look at a Gobur at the moment!

We had one for many years, an excellent van and company, sadly no longer in production. Very well made and thought out, a product refined over the years. The folding protects the windows from aging or hedge blushes, with the lid nicely covering things up from the rain etc but allowing a heathy level of in storage ventilation. Richard the moving force behind the firm an example to any company, and was an exceedingly rare one in this industry.

Enjoy the van and the admiration of other campers, just stand well clear of a damp roof drenching you, or worse still your partner for a wet clothes drive home!

Thank you

Mine is now up for sale again due to a total time-waster.

Reluctant but it's gotta go.

Hopefully it will go soon Bridgelayer.

I'm interested to know what a Vanity Tent is for the portaloo. Is it a toilet tent.

It's just another layer of privacy for using the loo at night. When you get to my age you are up and down all night. It sits in the corner of the awning, tucked out of the way.
