My first trip is currently scheduled for later in March 2025, can't wait; however, I am not looking forward to the preparations to get the van ready!
I may get someone to clean the van instead of doing it myself!

Cloudless skies, beautiful sunsets - lovely camping weather & plenty of pitches available at my favourite Galloway site. But dark by 6 and frosty grass in the morning, so it’s a few weeks too early for me yet.
It must be warmer, as the dog refuses to come back inside and is staying out sunning it in the garden!
The van has been booked in to have the front and back decals replaced on 10 March 2025 as they are peeling, especially the front one.

I've always told her over 20 odd years that I won't tow a dirty caravan
If I tried that we'd never go anywhere. My wife's usual contribution to getting the caravan ready is to keep me supplied with teas coffees, and snacks.
I'm still starting to think about coming out of hibernation. Actually doing it is probably still well over a month away. Then I'll spend another couple of weeks thinking about getting the caravan ready. Then a couple more weeks actually getting round to doing it. Maybe then by the end of April it will be ready to go. Then we'll start thinking about where we might like to spend some time.
We are going to get our caravan sorted out today. Most of the contents are currently in our spare bedroom as we had to clear it before its service in January and didn’t bother to put them back in.
We will go down to the storage yard this afternoon, when it warms up a bit, and give it a good wash. We always do the roof once a year, and today looks like as good a day as any to get the ladders up and get that job over and done with. Then we’ll sort all our gear back into the relevant cupboards and we will be ready for the spring.
Unfortunately, it is still a few weeks before we can actually get away in it as I have a few Saturdays when I am working in March. However, we are hoping to get away at least once in March and then we have a decent break of at least a week booked for April, May, June, July and September. We will hopefully fit in a few other weekends as well as those longer breaks.
I love this time of year when it starts to feel a little bit warmer and it is light enough to go for a walk when I finish work.
We had a week away last week visiting relatives in North Yorkshire and N. Lincolnshire, then dropped the caravan off at Preston for some warranty work on the way back.
We picked it up 3 days later and decided we could squeeze in another 3 nights away locally as the weather forecast was reasonable. So we are currently at Meathop Fell CMC site near Grange-over-Sands.
It was fairly quiet on Thursday when we arrived but really filled up yesterday.
We hope to get away late March. Certainly no plans to start even preparations yet as I am suffering a real stinker of a cold and just spend my time sitting back in my chair dozing. Once this eases I will get our bikes serviced for a new season and we can hope to get away for a few days.
We had to get the Heki sunroof resealed couple of weeks ago as we discovered quite a flood after a bad storm. Lucky I happened to go into the van and spot it straightaway. The engineer even commented on that.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
