I assume via a dealer? Last time we did it, last year, it was less than a couple of weeks, 13 days to be exact, and could have had it sooner. BUT, that was because we changed to a motorhome and we didn't want it before the 1st of the following month, because othersie we would have lost most of that month's tax. I think they could do it in about a week; they had to get the MH serviced and MOT'd beforehand, plus we wanted a bikerack fitting as well.
Changing from caravan to caravan, you wouldn't have the road tax issue of course; our neighbours part-exchanged caravans earlier this year and it was just over a week for them. I assume it varies from dealer to dealer though, and depends on how busy they are etc.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
We are, but it's a well used 2019 model. Anyway, hopefully our service man will be able to do some necessary repairs which he pointed out at the service yesterday.
We have a 2017 Coachman. A while back, chatting to our aws service engineer about some of the caravans we had recently seen at our local dealer’s open weekend, he immediately commented to keep the one we had, the new ones have nothing like the quality of these older ones.
Yes, there are a few jobs needed, just had to purchase new electronics box for powrtouch mover (£222) and the electric hot water system just failed, but can still use gas. Have to get him to check that out.
I suppose the answer is how long it takes the dealer to PDI a new caravan or how long to service prior to collection. White Arches, now part of the Spinney organisation, are a big dealers so I suppose they are busy. We purchased one caravan and two motorhomes from them, can't say we had particularly long waits before collecting.
Dealt with White Arches now Spinney since the 1970’s and had a total of 11 caravans. Had one of their first Archways early 80’s. Present caravan 2023 Archway, whent in and see sales and asked for a delivery date. He looked on computer and showed model I required of the archway was in production that week. Placed order and 7 days later was delivered and we received it 9 days from our order. As a Dealership cannot faults them .
There were no Archways there yesterday. Suppose they have all been sold. I like the caravans with end bedroom and central washroom (one room, not separate loo and shower) but have read reports of towing instability. Has anyone got one and how do you get on with it?

We bought a swift with that layout, hated it, we sold it after one outing. We found the bedroom very claustrophobic and if you’re tall your feet touch the bathroom wall. We then found it made the living area small as the door needed to be kept shut as could see the sink with it open. Don’t think there was any trouble towing, (I don’t do the driving, OH is a truck driver so towing doesn’t phase him) i would just say spend a bit of time in there and try the bed. We now have Lunar Delta TS twin singles, so there is so much space it’s unbelievable.
Hope you find the van you’re looking for as i know you are away a lot so needs to be right.
Thanks, we once had a Sterling with twin singles, it was stolen. Insurance paid for another t/a with a conventional layout. We p/XD for this one, at the Caravan Company which has ceased trading.
The Archway is no more now since White Arches sold out, but the Exclusive is its replacement. We now downsized to a 2 berth and even with larger caravans, have always gone for nice large end washrooms and showers for the last 7 caravans

Our Swift Challenger 560 has the end bedroom, central washroom layout. Our caravan before that had the end washroom layout. We haven’t noticed any difference in towing stability between the layouts. The only thing you need to be careful about is how much you put under the bed as it is right at the back. We only put light stuff under there and try to make sure it is at the foot of the bed, rather than right at the very back.
This is by far our favourite layout and we would have no qualms getting this layout again
