Trying to sort out our old caravan. The battery won't charge when plugged in, the charger light is on but no voltage shows on the dial inside the caravan. I want to check the battery fuse but I can't locate it. The battery is only a few years old and it was working last weekend. Can anyone guide me please? Thanks in advance.
The Battery fuse on Swift brand caravans is inside the caravan behind the battery box. Often tucked away under water or heating pipes. It is a yellow fuse 20amp. The best way to test if charger is working if to put a multimeter direct on the Battery terminals which if charging should read 13.6 volts
You say old caravan, do you have an idea how old?
Theres not many caravans left that are older than 1998 but those that are need the towbar wiring sorting out as it changed in that year.
