Recently purchased an awning from Facebook Marketplace, paid £320 cash for it. The advert said that it was it good condition apart from some sun damage on the roof.
We couldn't get it out of the bag to look at it for 2 weeks and when we have got it out the 2 windows on the apex of the roof are damaged and split.
There are also black spots on the roof which we are ok with as a good scrub will get them out.
We have contacted the seller and they are not taking any responsibility for this and have said that the windows were not like it when they packed it shortly before we brought it 2 weeks ago.
I'm no expert but could the plastic have degraded to this extent in 2 weeks?
It's a learning curve for us but very disappointed
that not degradation its lack of care and attention! par for the course tho with market place, never hand money over unless you have carefully checked any item over. their responce to your messaging them clearly shows they knew what it was like and they will do it again
Possibly too late for you now, but we also bought a second hand awning a couple of weeks ago, from the Preloved Awning Comany.
Their communications by phone and email, and customer service were excellent, the awning arrived 2 days after ordering and was as described and just what we wanted, the price reasonable (and open to a bit of negotiation), and there was the option of returning the awning if we decided not to keep it for whatever reason.
I would highly recommend them.
