You may have already heard our exciting news – we’re rebranding.
Towards the end of this year, the name you know us by today – Towergate – will start to become Everywhen. Our new name reflects exactly what we stand for: being here for you, “always” and “at all times” (which is the literal definition of Everywhen). While our name is changing, everything else stays the same. You’ll still be supported by the same team, delivering the same great service, just with the added benefit of being part of a business united behind a shared purpose.
A silly way to lose customers who knew them by the old name.
I worked for a longstanding industrial company who changed their name and quite a few customers could no longer find us.
With regard to the new name, Everywhen is an adverb and in my opinion is unsuitable for a company name, but the younger generation appear to be ignorant of English grammar.
I had a phone call from Towergate this morning.
I renewed my insurance with them in June, for the caravan we store in France, agreeing to the change in conditions stating that the van must spend at least 1 day in the UK so it is not permanently stored in the EU.
The phone call this morning was to say that Towergate are changing the rules again, effective in 2 weeks, that the van must now spend less than 6 months each year in the EU, otherwise my insurance is cancelled.
Needless to say, I am not happy, as in 2 weeks my caravan will be uninsured. I'm amazed they can do that, but no doubt somewhere in the small print it will say they can.
Why not ask your insurers what the situation is ?
I wouldn't have thought that a reputable insurer would have cancelled a contract mid-term.
Don't forget that you have access to the insurance ombudsman but you need to exhaust your complaint with the insurers first.

They do these things not for us Oxter but for the legions yet to come. Those caravanners as yet unborn.
Tongue firmly in cheek methinks.

If an insurance company cancels the policy after way through the term, this may create future issues. I am fairly sure that when applying for insurance there is a question that asks whether a previous insurer cancelled a policy.

How would they know?
If you are referring to my post, I have been told in the past that insurance companies have a database that they share which is why there is no longer need to provide evidence of NCB.
If they catch you out, they will cancel your insurance immediately and to get insurance after that will be difficult and probably expensive.
I phoned Towergate regarding the change to my insurance Ts & Cs, and all the poor lad could say was that he apologised for the inconvenience but that was the situation. When I asked why I was told a different story in June prior to renewing, he said that was based on the information they had at the time but that now they have further information from the underwriters.
I feel like I was definitely mis-sold the insurance so have moved it on to a formal complaint with Towergate and am waiting for them to contact me.
The good news is, that I will be refunded the remaining cost of the insurance - and they won't charge me a cancellation fee!!!!!
