I just received an email from Swift to say that their 2026 caravans are now out. I had a wee look, just out of interest, and spotted that the Challenger range no longer has the Alde heating. Previously, the Sprite range had blown air heating and then when you moved up to the Challenger range, you got Alde heating. Now I am wondering what justifies the £6000 price difference between the Sprite and Challenger in the same layout. The difference was always the Alde heating. Now if you want Alde heating you have to go up again to the newly reintroduced Conqueror models but they don’t seem to be doing an end bed layout in the conqueror which is our preference. This is all hypothetical as we are not planning to change caravan at the minute, but if we were, we would have to change from a Swift to get the layout we like with Alde heating in a caravan that isn’t ridiculously expensive.
The Sprite is now just a basic caravan with no frills. All things such as Tv aerials, microwave, front chest, solar panels, alarm and Alko hub lock now all gone. So any of these are now to be optional extras dealer fitted. Fitting all of these will bring the price back to previous years price. It does now give the option of buying a new caravan for the price of a second hand one then just add whatever the buyer wants,
To increase profits in a diminishing market place.
