I am in Australia and need help with the gas on Carver Cascade Rapide Water Heater. (AC workd perfectly). I have purchased a controller from UK but do not know if I need it on my van. I want to supply a photo of the control panel on my 1997 Elddis Ebor Van to see if the panel I have on my van works without the new cotroller I purchased. Thanks Keith

Welcome to UKCS.
Can’t help with the control panel, but our Carver water heater didn’t work on gas because of corroded parts, no flame. (1993 Motorhome) There was a whiff of gas outside beside the heater element. We just used it on hook-up instead, turned off the valve.
As it happened, a few years later, we had to replace the water heater itself (Carver is not available anymore, there are alternatives) and the control panel was still the original (if we’re talking about the same thing, in the absence of a photo).
If you search the forum, you’ll find other threads about Carver Cascade water heaters.

I replaced our Carver heater with a Propex electric one a couple of years ago when the Carver burst open flooding the locker. It was an easy install and works beautifully. We are always on EHU on sites anyway because of our battery charger and mains-only fridge, and as most sites charge a fixed price for electricity regardless of how much/little you use, it made sense to use what we were already paying for.

Best Regards,
Colin

Ah, many of our (previous) MH switches combined into one panel. Our “immersion heater” (electric hot water, your lower LHS?) switch was hidden in the wardrobe, took us a week to find it. Your “water system” section was a separate panel that size on the outside of the wardrobe but it had the same lights. The one for gas didn’t produce hot water because of the corrosion.
I’m not a gas engineer, and we’d usually recommend getting a qualified person to look at the whole gas-heated water system, for safety reasons. Our first habitation service found a split gas pipe to the cooker & a blocked gas fire flue. And check your carbon monoxide alarm is up to date..
