Hello I have a Compass Casita 860 2019. Noticed at Easter that the oven and grill have very low heat output. Particular the oven the heat/flame doesn't adjust when turning the heat up on the control knob. Thermocouple looks to be sitting directly in the flame. The flame is a nice blue colour indicating the oxygen mix and jets are not blocked up. Plenty of gas as only renewed last summer and used once since. I'm at a loss with it. My old Sterling 2003 had a good oven and grill.
Hope someone can help me.
Thanks in advance
Karl

Always tricky trying to fault find from a distance and with equipment not necessarily overly familiar with, so it's a bit of a guessing game of no more than likely suspects! And of course the standing safety proviso of 'don't mess with gas if not competent'!

As it's igniting on at least two burners that's encouraging, the lack of flame control implies a gas flow, maybe pressure problem, they are linked! If it were a thermocouple issue that would normally manifest as flame going out when you released control knob to bypass it on first lighting.
Start with the inline gas taps, are they ALL turned FULLY on (often more than one between cylinder and appliance! -lever in line with pipe is the norm for 'on')? If you've had any work done, service engineers are notorious for turning them off and not telling you, or all too easy to knock one!
What is the age of the gas regulator? They can fail and affect gas flow/pressure. They should be routinely replaced at 10 years old (DOM should be marked on casing/label) as a service item.
Rubber hose/pig tail, again a service item that should be replaced every 5 years (DOM should be marked on it). They can deteriorate and obstruct gas flow with internal debris.

Then you start getting into the unlikely but possible.
If the pigtail was left disconnected from the cylinder, bugs can nest in them and obstruct the flow.
Does the 'new' cylinder actually contain a substantial amount of gas? Not unknown for them to leak their contents away! Easy to check with luggage/bathroom scales - anything substantial above the 'Tare' weight (empty cylinder weight marked on cylinder - usually neck. Calor mark their Tare weights in POUNDS and OUNCES, so you need to convert to Kg to compare gas contents weight!) tells you it contains gas! You can quite accurately tell how much gas you've got from the weighed weight minus the Tare weight.
Debris can sometimes get introduced into the gas plumbing (crumbling seals etc.) and eventually find it's way to a narrow point like a jet and partially obstruct it.

Fault finding is a systematic process of elimination, start with the easy, valves on OK, gas in cylinder etc., working your way to the toughest, blowing through pipes and jets to clear debris. DON'T do it all at once, or it's wasted effort and even likely to create new problems like leaking joints! You may not want to tackle any dismantling of gas plumbing yourself, as you MUST do adequate leak testing after disturbance on safety grounds.

Good luck.

Thankyou for your reply a very indepth list of checks! Hobs are on full flame just the grill seems low but gets cooking with door closed and a much smaller space. The oven definitely isnt on full flame. It is due to go back in after the service as some skylight seals need renewing so maybe one for the service man to investigate.
Thanks again.
Karl

Thanks again

When I first had my s/h van (circa 18 months old) serviced, the grill jet was partially blocked with debris and giving a poor flame! Service engineer fixed it.

what gas are you using, Butane or propane?
if it was cold at Easter and you are on butane, it may not have been warm enough for the butane to fully " gas" off.
grill would need more volume of gas than hob ring
