Hi everyone.

Having another issue with my water heater carver cascade 2
(Can you tell am new to a caravan)

My Gas turns on fine to heat the water tank and stays on fine, but when I turn on the water on the pump starts and water flows fine, but the gas shuts down and comes back on when the pump turns off. Has anyone come across this before.

Hi welcome to the world of the caravan, as water heater is ok until pump runs I would suspect the battery is low on charge. The electronics that control the water heater need a good 12v supply guess running the pump is dropping battery voltage too low whilst pump runs. If you have a battery indicator gauge fitted in the caravan watch this whilst running pump.

Hi thank you for helping and replying.
The gauge is in the green. But is is charging via a 100w solar panel, at the moment we have had so much sun, the gauge is off the scale. Would you recommend putting a battery charger on it.

Gavin

Hi Gavin, If you are currently on mains hook up caravan should have its own charger. What I would do next is to disconnect solar panel, and turn off battery charger if its on. So that you can check the battery gauge without battery getting any charge. Turn on caravan 12v interior lights then run pump while watching the gauge it should only drop a bit not a great deal this will give you an idea how battery is coping under load. A volt meter reading at battery terminals would be best if you have a meter.
