I have a 2017 Bailey Unicorn Vigo & the key fob has fallen to bits. It s the fob which opens by pressing the silver button. I have found a new fob but I need to open it up to fit the key to the fob. Has anybody done this or know how to open the fob?
Many thanks Roy.

Is it actually meant to be opened?

-------------
XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

If we are talking about the common (not caravan brand, but HARTAL FAWO lock brand) type where the 'key' rotates/flips into the fob, then it's easy, BUT with risk!

The 2 plastic 'shells' clip into each other with internal bosses. You can prise the fob apart with a thin blade (pen knife rather than screwdriver!) between metal chassis and either plastic shell, gently working your way around to ensure even opening. Beware of spring and button 'flying' out and getting lost when the shell separates!

I don't think they are intended to ever be opened after initial assembly, and whilst my fob was old and no doubt the plastic embrittled, it did break the bosses so that they would not reassemble and stay clipped together. I had little to lose, the mechanism had jammed and the 'key' wouldn't emerge from the fob! I did mend the mechanism and reassemble the fob by using glue, VERY carefully placed so as not to stick the moving parts, but just to hold the plastic shells together.

I now only keep the folding key fob as a spare due to it's relative fragility, utilising the ordinary 'spare' key as my main key. TBH, the folding key was as I now realise a PITA as it would often open in my pocket and was then much bulkier than a standard key, I find the standard key type less of a problem as it's on a key ring with assorted other caravan related keys anyway!

Good luck.

I'm not sure that's why I put this post up.
