We bought our new (to us) Compass Rallye from them in May this year and we were very pleased with the service we received plus they gave us a good trade in price(better than we would of got private). Never found them pushy, helpful yes and answered all our questions as welooked around ok dealers are a bit more expensive but at least you have some come back if things go wrong. Caravan beautifully valeted and cleaned on the outside when we picked it up..couldn"t recommend them enough.

p.s

have had our fingers burnt buying private.

Jo, was it a 1989 Compass 360/2 Rallye GTE? if so that was our old one.

Also I found very helpful and friendly, noticed the Aston and Bentley didn't have towbars on them! but by all accounts the one brother does holiday in a motorhome.

There is a post from a guy who bought a show model and got ripped off. Have a look for it - Glossops look real bad. I wouldn't deal with them after what I read.

How do you know it wasn't the customer who got it wrong? lots of others including me are happy, and I can only go by my own personal experience.

hi we have just bought a van from them and could

not have asked for better service

we got to the sales site at 8.45am with our old van on the back

drove out at 5.40pm with a new to us coachman 1991 fully serviced

and ready to go, john the salesman on the cheaper vans could not

have been more helpfull

plus they gave us twice what i paid for my old van 6 months ago

and we kept our old awning which fits the new van

We bought out first new to us caravan earlier this year from them. The caravan seemed a good price we got all the usual bits thrown in aqua roll, battery, electric lead etc.

The after sales was not good. The caravan had missing fly screens they said they would get us some, never did. Bought them locally instead. So I would say they are not bad, but after sales was terrible.

we bought our first van from them and i have to say the service we had from them in the past has been great.

Ironically i saw this thread just after we have come back from  dropping our old van off at Glossop caravans ready to pick up our brand spanking new van on Thursday.

i will let you know how things go with it.  there are a few 'niggles' with the van that we are getting that need sorting before we pick it up and my OH has his fine tooth comb at the ready to inspect it before we hand over any money.

they gave us a really good deal on our old van (better than all the other dealers in the area) but the salesman hasnt actually seen our old van so he doesnt actually know what state it is in. It has been well looked after, but he doesnt know that. i am sure that many vans are bought with damp etc that doesnt really get sorted out before the van is put back up for sale.  we dont live far from Glossop so it will be interesting to see what price they sell our old van for.

So fingers crossed that Glossop caravans are ok and our new van is trouble free!

Bought our new Avondale from them this year and found them to be very helpful and efficient.
Don`t know if Vernon was refering to us being sold a show model by them but we were sold a show Swift van from another dealer last October and I did mention it here a while back, this had nothing to do with Glossops though!.
Cheers
Steve
Ps I`d buy from them again if thats a recommendation
