Hi,
We have ordered a new 06 Bailey Provance which we pick up on sat 4th march (first ever van, and very excited)and id like to know what's a good buy for a wheel clamp and hitchlock for this van. As a newbie all advice and help would be gratefully recieved, thanks to anyone in advance. PS i have a limited budget but dont want to compromise too much. I have around £120 to get both.
Great caravan, we bought a 2005 Bailey Pageant Provance, our first ever caravan and used AL-KO 2004/3004 hitch lock which can be used while towing, cost £60. For the wheels BULLDOG QD33/QD44 £84.95,we found both work very well, happy towing.
Hi Daran,
Many thanks for you time and reply, wheel clamp was the one i was looking at, could you give me the link or web address of the alko hitchlock if you have it and the time. Thanks again.
Darren
As shielsy said Darren, you should get a hitchlock with the van but I bet if you had hummed and haa'd a bit, I bet the dealer would have given you both in the deal. It might not be too late to ask now as you have put a nice little earner his way. he at least might give you a good discount.
I too have a Milenco wheel clamp but apparently the concrete-filled one is supposed to more secure although a lot more expensive.
Many thanks to you all for your comments and advice. I shall ring Chichester Caravans and enquire about hitchlock coming with 2006 Provance. Once again thanks to all off you. Thanks Daran for the link too.
I think I read that many are coming prepared for it but only some have the whole thing supplied. You can buy the extra piece if you want to. Check your insurance first as apparently not all companies are accepting the new Alko lock!
