have you noticed that more sites are quoting prices based on 4 people (with no discount for 2.) you can use only so much leccy in a caravan.so is it the case of the 2 subsidising the 4 or not?? the only place i came across was the unity site at brean offering 25% less for 2 persons.just had waldegraves site in essex gen sent. £17 PLUS £4 for awning a costs of £21 per night out of season. so wont be going there then!!. we have electric storage heating in our flat.and as we are on a key meter. it costs us about £15 a week this is for heating/ tv/ 2 freezers/fridge/ big fish tank/ this computer/ and lighting.

There is only 2 of us in the van but we don"t mind paying the same price as a family of 4, if we pay the same it helps to keep the cost down for young familys (been there done that) well thats the way we think anyway.

If you find the cost of EHU is too expensive why not go to a site without that way it will work out cheaper. I just love camping and meeting other like minded folk.

We agree with pete & jo and sharon. Why should people pay for extra for kids, the price we pay should be for the pitch & EHU if wanted, not based on occupants, awnings etc.

By the way there are only two of us, no kids, so we are not biased in any way.

I think that a lot of sites are getting really greedy.
Extra for evrything from an awning to an extra pet.
I don't think that they quite know how to get more from us !!
The two of us go on site with a very small campervan and that takes up less room than the average car towing a caravan. Yet if we want our awning up we pay extra on a lot of sites, even though the total space taken is still less than a caravan plus towing car.
We don't need hook ups nor the showering facilities and really only need the loos or emptying facilities if staying more than a couple of days.
So we shall be just 'parking for the night' on our future trips unless on a meet when the prices are more than reasonable.
Brenda
