Hi all

we've just acquired a 2nd hand mexico awning with annexe,

does anyone have any instructions for putting it up?

or any tips that could save lots of embarrassment

also it is brown and beige does that suggest a year of make

cheers frank

Funny enough I just purchased a swift challenger 440/SE annex size 865 it came with a trio mexico awning, result I thought until I put the awning on and it turns out the awning is 975 and Ive just had to buy a new awning now trying to find someone with a 975 size van

I had never put an awning up either and it was crypton factor from the start, get all the poles out, long ones with hooks attach to the top of your van and support the roof, you will have 3 bent metal sections, one of these sections will be less bent than the other 2, this one goes in the middle and the other 2 go to the sides, attatch them to the long poles with hooks respectively. thread your awning on first from left to right then attach the roof support hooks to the van, or the hooks attached to the annex. Look for poles with feet, these are your verticals and fit in your bent metal bits at the front, this is all done under the awning fabric, you will have enough bits to make up your horizontal bars that go the full length of the front of the awning.... Hey presto, although I had bits over that i couldnt work out where they went, some had white plastic bits with holes in them, im none the wiser and some were very short alluminium ones that seemed to be extendable.

I think that awnings are designed to be similar to erect, if you need diagrams go to the isabella site, i dont know the link but im sure someone can supply it.

I wish you a wind free day when you try to erect this

------and some were very short alluminium ones that seemed to be extendable.----------

these short aluminium ones are usually used to hang the curtains from. there should be small loops just at the top corners of the windows to suspend the poles from.
