On my first tow (practise around supermarket car park) I came back and hit the status aerial on the apple tree.  Even though the extensions were both in, I have managed to rip them both out, in fact lost one all together.  I now need to contact the company directly for advice.

On closer inspection I realised my Truma chimney cowl had gone too.  As this is on the other side of the caravan the question is, did I lose that on the way out (didn't feel/hear anything) or was it missing when I took delivery (at home 7pm).  Would I have noticed it missing?

Anyway the point is, it had gone.  I went to Salop Caravans as my first towing holiday (next day) was down in Shrewsbury.  They were really helpful.  Out of stock on Wednesday but had ordered 10 which came in on Friday.  So is this a common problem?  How do you keep yours on?

Cheers  Angela

Hadn't thought of that . I've hacked half the apple tree away, so that might help!

Imho not a common problem, but certainly possible. After all you can also get extensions of the chimney for wintercamping. You extend the chimney yourself than, by simply pulling the cap of, put one, two, three od four extensions on, reapply the cap, and of course remove ad reapply the cap before leaving for home again.
So i suspect you lost it during your fight with the apple tree.
