Hi, Hope someone can help. i am running the hot tap but it dosnt seem to be filling the heater unit. have replace both inlet and outlet valves but still no luck. is it possible that a blockage can occur inside the unit?????
Hi, both the inlet and outlet valves usually have one way valves fitted to them, just check that they are fitted the right way around in the valves, you can test by trying to blow through them.
im sure they are the right way round. i checked by trying to blow through the system and air goes through the valve if you take the drain plug out but just dosnt seem to go through the system. thats what makes me think that is actually in the unit. Lokking at the diagram found from one of the other threads... Could it be the pressure release valve? is the pressure release valve internal of the external cover?
Hi quick check for non return valve blockage is /// remove the drain plug outside on the carver 2.fix on pump with a full barrel in the normal way.leave taps shut.while you are outside watching the drain have someone switch on the pump for a minute.this could clear a blockage sometimes.if there is no water coming out or its only a trickle this suggest the non return valve is closed up.or pushed down the pipe by frost.

The cascade has one non-return valve in the water inlet, nothing in the outlet, if you have fitted two inlets you won't get any water out. The pressure release valve or to give it it's proper name 'quick drain valve' (QDV) will have nothing to do with the problem.
Assuming you have the correct hot water outlet then the other likely cause is a blockage in the narrow passage from water inlet into the tank. Try back flushing with a hose pipe connected as best you can to the drain bung hole but have the hot taps open while you do it to release trapped air.
Just been down the van and tried out a few of the ideas that i have recieved. Took out the drain plug and attached a hose and blew for England down it. First it bubbled a bit then got total resistance and following that had the biggest mouthfull of water and the added delight of what seemed to be a ton of limescale.....yukky.....
Now when i open the hot tap i can blow straight through....
Looking good, bringing it home next weekend and will try some water through the system. Fingers Crossed.....
