We now have a canopy fitted to our van (well slotted in anyway!), do I need to advise sites if we intend to use it. Its to shade off the sun OH says haha is he having a giraffe, so far it has collected rain! We open it to use (handy for the bbq in the rain) then close it after as we're not supposed to use in rain ...

I wouldn't have thought so. If anyone does say anything just plead ignorance.
They get enough money out of us as it is!

Not in my book, it wouldn't be.
I reckon that as it has no 'footprint' so to speak, that it can't possibly count. I guess the only exception might be if the pitches aren't very big and your canopy enters the 'firebreak' space needed between units.

Why do you have to take it down if it rains????
We use a Fiamma Caravanstore (just a roof) and it is great in the rain. Strong wind................well that's a different story.!!!!!

Dunno why we take it down, ours is an omnistor one it just doesn't look stong enough to take a beating from the rain - although it has to when the barbe is on! Of up to Hawes later this morning, hope it can be used to shade the sun for a change LOL!
