Just get a 'maintenance free' battery.  Problem sorted.

Even they have vents and the gas is highly explosive ......

Beware that a lot of so-called "maintenance free" batteries are in fact just normal batteries with a large sticker stuck over the caps so they can't be topped up. Our "Platinum" 110Ah battery is like this. All wet batteries lose water during charging and will run dry eventually if not topped up. Only expensive gel and AGM batteries are truly maintenance free.

Of course, it is possible to rip off the sticker and open the caps to top up as normal, rather defeating the point of the "maintenance free" label.

My son had a battery explode on him when he was taking it off the tractor to find out what was wrong. There were holes all over his t shirt, he had a splatter of small burns all over his front and a broken finger where a piece of the battery hit it. It sounded like a gun going off and we found pieces of the casing 20 feet away.
Very scary.

Our battery is housed internally (under the bed) and for that reason, we have to have a gel type leisure battery, as recommended by Hymer. These are sealed and do not give off gasses but are much more expensive than the standard batteries.

Maintenance free batteries can still be checked for fluid levels and topped up. If you do top them up you can extend their life considerably.

The plugs maybe under the label or sticker but they are there. Fluid level guides are usually there also.

gel batteries are more expensive like normal batteries against duracell. If they charge they must vent or they will explode.so they will give off gasses no matter what.just be aware of that.I would not fancy a battery under my bed,i thought likemine they were in sealed locker.
