a word of warning to caravaners who have got motow movers on there wheels the part where you put the socketbar to move the rollers to the wheel KEEP AWAY FROM THE PAVMENT CURBES AT CONERING COSE IF YOU HIT THE CURB YOU MAY FIND THAT THE ROLLER BAR THAT FITS UP TO THE WHEEL MAY SHIFT AND LOCK THE WHEEL AND JAM ON THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT OF IS TO GO UNDER THE CARAVAN AND UNDO THE 4 U BOLTS AND SLIDE IT BACK UP TO THE STOPING PLOCK DO NOT TRY AND MOVE THE CARAVAN WITH THE CONTROL
yes i have heard of this before today a few times.we have a mover fitted and tend to worry about it on corners.i was parked next to a guy who had done this in france and it jammed the wheel solid, lucky he found a friendly mechanic at a garage near by.he got away with a shredded tyre and no more damage.not sure about the wheel
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
We have had a minor scrape at home. What I would say was if the mover does not hit the kerb then the tyre will. Tyres are damaged by kerbing so should be avoided, last thing you want is a wall blow out on the way home.

Just back from 3 weeks touring Scotland in this gorgeous weather.....whoops' that's me getting carried away again. (What do you mean 'I ought to be'.....carried away, lol)
We had heard of this problem and mentioned it to our dealer when we were ordering our motor mover. He said that their company always fitted the moter movers to the rear of the wheels instead of infront of it and this not only prevents this happening but also helps to keep the nose weight down.....it certainly proves its worth with us.....just a thought if you are thinking of having one fitted.
Not sure it will really make that much difference to the nose weight as it is so close to the axle. Our spare wheel carrier is behind the wheel so it had to go in front.

The simple solution is to allow plenty of clearance when negotiating a bend. Not only does this avoid damage to the mover it avoids damage to the tyre. Both are costly!!!
