Can you tell me pls how the bidding went? Was there no bids up until the last hours then a few? Did the winning bidder come to view the van beforehand?
My auction's ending in 14 hours and even though there are 55 watchers, we've not had many viewings... the ones we did have said good things but I don't know if they'll bid.
Guess i'm just a impatient because i've got the campervan ready and waiting to take the caravans place!

Thank you very much. We've taken care of her well. It'll be sad to see her go in a way, but as the twins get older our needs are changing and we think the vw camper & tent will serve us better now.
13 hours to go!

I have just sold my old van on ebay, I started the auction at the price I would be happy for (£3995) had in excess of 1400 views with it being watched by 26 people. I only put it on for 3 days and had lot's of phone calls and e-mails. I got one bid in the lase 10 minutes and the chap drove 200 miles to collect it. He was overjoyed at the condition (lots and lots of photo's) and has since e-mailed me to thank me for all my help and assistance when he came to collect it.
I've only got a few hours to go now with no bids still, but 63 people watching it. I took a couple of promising phonecalls last night from people who couldn't view the carvan by the time the auction finishes so i've said by all means get in touch with me if the carvan doesn't sell because they could view then, but obviously I have to honour any ebay bids first.
I'm not hopeful that it sells this time to be honest, but I really believe the carvan is worth the money (reserve £850 but am telling people i'd accept anyting over £800) but will try advertising it a few more times before I even consider lowering the price.
Guess there's loads that don't sell first time though.
Thanks,
K x

Oh my goodness... it's gone above the reserve now! Don't think it's someone that's viewed the caravan though..... fingers crossed it all goes thorugh ok now.

Ooh I certainly am! I'll be disappearing from this forum then now i've used and abused you all (thanks for your advice & best wishes - it worked!) but i'll hang around the other forums when I get a decent tent and my vw camper on the road.
Cheers chickin's!

just a warning about ebay i have been using ebay for 3 years....... last week my ebay was hijacked by a third party, i couldn't get into my ebay refused my password. I contacted ebay, they looked into it and that is when i found out that my site had been taken over and that i was selling komatsu excavators! when ebay had sorted this out i had 20 emails from America! i couldn't even spell the whats its let laone sell them! Any way all sorted now but to be on the safe side i cancelled my paypal. Just warning all you ebayers to be careful and only enter ebay through www.ebay.co.uk and DON'T use links, i think that is how they got into mine.
We bought our (then) 18 month old Transtar from a chap on ebay but after the auction ended. I could'nt bring myself to bid that amount "sight unseen" even though his description was "like new-unmarked" etc.
When we did view, although the van was generally excellent it was not like new, it did have some minor signs of use and a few scuffs internally and I guess we could have rejected it on that basis.
I would certainly bid on ebay again for a van, knowing more now than we did, I'm sure we were a bit lucky last time and although there was the benifit of a transferable warranty, it was a bit of a gamble.
We bought our last van through e-bay (and sold it) I only paid a deposit based on it being 'as described' and the rest on collection. If it's not as described just walk away you are under no further obligation. The key is to ask LOTS of direct questions and keep the replies, i.e does it smell, does it leak, is there pet hairs and McDonald's wrappers everywhere. Don't be afraid to ask and possibly offend, it's your hard earned cash.
