Just before going away last week, got my brother inlaw to have a check all round mainly the brakes as they were squeaking a bit. Shoes and drums both ok. Got down the moterway fine but the trouble started then, every time I applied the brakes the squeaking started and slowly got loader and louder. People were starting to stare and they could certainly hear me coming from afar. Any advice or help please.
Dennis

Hi Dennis, The most common cause of squeaky brakes is a build up of brake dust in the brake drum,or glazed brake shoes, sounds like the brakes need a service.

hi dennis, sounds like if your shoes look a bit shiny but theres plenty left on them get some really fine emery paper and slightly rough them over,or it could be the shoes are not fully retracting so it could just be your towing hitch needs its nipple greasing.
