Has anyone got any views on the Compass range of caravans. We have been looking at replacing our van with a Compass Omega/Liberte, 2004. However we have been to see a few this weekend and on both occasions the vans have been removed from sale from the main dealer due to "damp". Is this a common occurrence with them or is it just coincidence.
My sister has a compass albeit a few years older than the one you are looking to buy and has had no problems as yet with damp, I think it really depends on the individual caravan rather than the make/model. Caravans are all pretty much made by hand and the materials used in the construction vary very little from maker to maker. In my opinion it is usually down to poor workmanship in the factory that causes problems shortly after leaving the factory rather than inferior quality caravans.
It's more a case of luck then judgement if your caravan stays dry for many years to come.
Our Compass is a 2006 model, and came with a 5-year damp warranty, so hopefully the new ones are OK. Not much help with a query about a 2004 model though, sorry.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
