If anybody wants to do a search for avondale cracked panels and you will see what I mean. I really like the layout but the build quality is so p*ss poor its untrue.

The picture on the gallery was taken on the day I bought it we were all so pleased with it. £13.5k we paid but because of the probs with Avondale the best offer we have had from the dealer were we bought it was £8k not bad in 8 months eh.
If you need any other reason not to buy Avondale just ask me.
You always lose thousands if you trade a new 'anything' in during the first twelve months anyway. Nothing to do with it being an AVONDALE. It would be nice not to lose too much, just to have a change lol. Hell if that could be, I would be trying 4 different caravans a year! Sorry to hear you're not happy with your van. It must be crap holidaying in it and not enjoying being in it.
------------- a tent, folding camper and 6 caravans later ... June
Oh my god youngerpet, thats a hell of a lot of money to lose.
What do you mean by cracked paneling ? have they cracked by themselves, ya know just appeared ? which panels ? can they be repaired ? what is the buikld quality like on the inside, do handles/fixtures fall off etc like Iv'e heard about some Bailey's ?
Sorry for all the questions, but I really do love this make & model.

I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it
If you go on to the search button at the top of the page and type in avondale cracked panels and read the threads.
I have got cracked panels front and rear and I know of alot of people with the same problem Avondale have only offered to repair them wich is a cop out. Because there has been so many caravans with this problem they simply cant afford to replace the panels. It seems to be the larger vans that have had the problem but I know of smaller ones with the same problem. My argument is some of the cracks have appeared at different intervals so if they repair the ones that are there now what about the ones that come later. The reason they crack is that they have been poorly fitted so no amount of repair work is going to sort the problem. Then caravan is 3 year old and panels continue cracking your left with leaky van no one is interested in.
The build quality on the inside is about the same as you will get from most british vans if you want quality go german.
would it be viable to take the van to the agents and tell them its not fit for the purpose it was sold therefore forcing them to refund your money in full or repair to a standard exceptable by you also telling the local press on how you have been treatedby the agents as bad publicity travels faster than good i know its a little bit blackmailish but its your money after all
It would appear, allegedly, there are one or two on travellers' sites, but of course PC Plod is just too scared to go and retrieve them.
Heard a great story the other day, the Marines in Taunton had a generator nicked by the thieving scumbags, so they set them up. Put another generator in an obvious place, night vision glasses at the ready, scumbags pulled up, Marines jumped out and beat the proverbial out of them. Apparently there wasn't a traveller male to be seen in the area for 6 weeks whilst they all nursed their wounds. Great shame. I can't believe they have let it get to the stage where the authorities are too scared of them to treat them like every other member of society. If they suspected the car parked on my drive was stolen, they would soon knock my door. Why should I be treated any differently to them?

I wouldn't say that the Police are scared!! The reality is most traveller's have no identity, they reallly are untouchable in most cases. Most groups/sets/families all have the same names (like John Doherty for example), so it really is quite difficult to beat them. Also, we should always remain respectful to diversity as not all of them are scumbags, just most of 'em!
As for more road checks and checks at caravan sites, it seems nowadays the Police only ever have time to react to crime, not to go looking for it!

Sale of goods act you can only receive refund if less than 12 months old. After 12 months you have to prove defects, been in to it all and they are doing minimum possible to passify us.
