The regular type take about as long as a full awning, don't know about the compact ones.  The Fiamma Caravanstore has a quick to put up canopy, you can then add sides.  The Caravanstore Zip has zip on sides and front.

Some porch awnings only fit certain heights of van.   When deciding on the size/model, measure carefully to ensure the sides of the awning will fall between door/windows, or you may end up not being able to open a window.

Hi,

We`ve been looking at porch awnings. I`ve seen a nice one from NR Awnings and we`re thinking of getting one. We`ve never had an awning before as there`s only two of us and a little dog and we don`t seem to take as much as everyone else does.

We do go away after Christmas though so we think it might be nice for cleaning muddy doggy paws in when its wet. I think they would be a lot less hassle than a full awning. I`d like to know how to measure for one too,

hope you get lots of replies

Hi Maxjoe, We have an Easi Porch awning and are really impressed with it. You can see it in my gallery. We bought it through this site, 129 pounds inc p&p and it was here within 2 days. It does exactly what it says on the tin!!!

We've just bought one like this Porchlite http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/membershop/bd_porchlite.asp.  We got the Sunncamp which comes in two sizes - 180 x 190 and 200 x 275 cms. We saw the larger one erected in our local dealers.  I thought it was a bit too big (we only want it for storage and taking off boots etc) but when we measured it against the van it was too long anyway and would have half covered one of the windows. We decided the smaller one would be big enough and phoned round and got one at Barrons for £49.99.  We put it up when we got home and, bearing in mind we were limited for space because we were putting it up against the garage wall, and it wasn't held up by anything at the top, it went up in about 10 minutes and I could have done it on my own.

Hope this helps.

Nora

I have the Compactalite, takes me 20 mins on my own http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/articles/view.asp?id=103

Easiporch takes about 5 mins on my own

Both are very easy to put up and put away

Cheers  Ratty

we have the easiporch - it's brilliant. by the time hubby has leveled and put the legs down, i've got the awning up and ready for him to peg out!
we've never used the big awning since we got the easiporch - doesn't seem much point really, we can fit a table, 2 chairs and the dog bed in and for a weekend that's all we need.
