Totally agree Alsparker, I'm not about to give up camping.  Having had a really lovely time last weekend, not going away camping does'nt bear thinking about! 

I go into deep depression when the weather finally stops us from getting onto our favourite CL - usually mid October!  Then I count the days to Easter when we hope the weather will be kind and let us get out again.

I think the next investment will be a decent chair and I must stop sitting in the van.  Any suggestions as to good chairs for folk with bad backs. 

Pennine Plodder - do you recommend the Fuma chairs?

I've now had 2 good nights at home with the topper.  I'm really pleased with it.

Hi hope you don't mind me butting in but as a serious back sufferer ( 3 back ops and counting) I have to agree on the La Fuma chairs being the best for your back but get the solid cushioned ones not the mesh as it retains the heat round your lower back.

As to the memory foam topper I find my Tempur travel mattress ok for a few nights then I begin to wake up stiff (we sleep with the full deep Tempur at home and no problems) it all depends on the standard and how firm the mattress the topper is being put onto because the topper when laid on compresses completely, if the mattress below is too hard or too soft you still have problems.

Pennine Plodder and Poppysmum.  Which type of La Fuma chair do you recommended - padded relaxer or folding high back chair? 

We have a very good quality bed which was'nt cheap (luckily bought in a sale!) but us folk with bad backs have to have good quality beds don't we!  Actually, everyone should!  At the moment I'm finding my topper (made by Ventura) very good and, again, this was'nt cheap (not as expensive as Tempur) but I was going for quality.  I would love a Tempur mattress (here's dreaming!) but I know OH would'nt like it at all and would complain that he was too hot - I think he would probably find it too hot in all honesty.

So far, as I've said above, I'm very pleased with the topper so far and long may it continue!
