err as a thought anyone got a bailey discover at all- they are advertised as light weight and value for money- Im not bothered about expensive gizmo's etc- but I am wondering should I get a "brand new discovery" or a used 6 berth for about the same price-

Go to the show & compare them all, it's in october at the NEC. Myself, I don't like fixed bunk caravans & wouldn't have one, I feel you lose too much space & with 6 people looking for space, it's not a layout for me. It's every one to thier own choice of course.

If you decide to go down the used 6 berth route. We had a Compass Reflection 6 berth with double dinette layout & good metal framed sprung based bunks & it was a lovely caravan. We kept it for 12 seasons & ended up replacing it with a 5 berth Bailey pageant Provence because no one makes a double dinette 6 berth single axle. If anyone makes one in the future, I'll be in there like a shot.

We bought a 5 berth bailey discovery 400 in july. We chose it because it's the only one we could find with 3 seperate bunks down the back end of the van plus the door is towards the front so our youngest doesn't get disturbed as much by anyone else going in and out after he's in bed. It's light enough for me to be able to push it about by myself easy enough and tows pretty well by my gutless toyota.

I reckon the Rangers are better value for money, if you read any reviews they say once you add things onto the Mars then you might as well have bought a Ranger.
