It's a Burstner (german) and a 'van - so it has to be Ludvig (van)

When my partner told a workmate we had bought a caravan, he christened it. He said, "That's another TIN SNAIL on the road." So the name stuck. A friend on mine called his awning, THE WIDOW MAKER because he nearly had a heart attack whenever he put it up.

The caravan is called Millie, short for Mildred, as she's pulled by George Disco!!!  (the folding camper we had last year was called Zippy because he had a lot of them!)

As for naming inanimate objects - why not?  Many of us develop an almost emotional attachment to things like cars a caravans - they cost us a lot of money and mean a lot to us.  So we name them - it's a human thing.
