Hi we've just converted from campers to caravanners & would be really grateful if we could pick some experienced brains regarding side-to-side levelling of a twin axle caravan.
We've just picked up our 1st ever caravan & we've bought a pair of Fiamma level up ramps & a pair of chocks. At the moment we have the forward wheel on the ramp and the second one 'unsupported' is this ok or do we need to 'support' both wheels?
If we do, do we need to concoct something ourselves to do the job or is there something on the market specifically for this purpose?
Please forgive us if we are not quite up to speed with the correct techie terms -we'll get there eventually! Any help would be most gratefully received - Thanks heaps!
Hi there. YES you do have to support both wheels when side to side levelling of a twin axle. My hubby cut a 3inch thick piece of wood, about 4ft long, and cut a sloping wedge at both ends so you can reverse or pull onto the plank without having to keep picking it up and turning it around. We keep it wrapped in an old tarpaulin so it can be put back in the caravan without dirtying the carpets. It,s fairly lightweight too, and it travels on the floor over the axles when on the move. Hope this helps.

Merlina 40, thanks for that advice, I too have a Twinaxle and have yet to be unfortunate enough to pitch on eneven ground, I have either pitched on a hard standing or been lucky enough to be in a flat field, I will make a plank up like your OH, as I am off to Whitemead next week and that I am told is not very level,
