with our caravan being new last and being kept in storage over the winter months, we went for a whole cover which we purchased off ebay for about £85 it certainly gave alot of protection from bird muck, and algie, and we was delighted when we went to this year to open it up, still nice and clean on the outside, no scuffing or black streaks, just as we lefte it, and cover will be out again this year when we put it away for another season.

Detectorlady, you have a valid point, but the same thing could be said about cars, they look better clean and polished, but this doesn't make everybody wash and wax them on a regular basis. If you use your van alot during the year, then a cover will not make alot of difference, as the van will be as much uncovered as it is covered, I think the only time the cover will be of any real benifit, is when it's stored for a long period (more than a month) under trees etc, I think the arguement about sunlight is irrelevant,as when you are on holiday in the summer this is when the van is most exposed to intense sunlight and you don't have it covered then, this is why when you wash it, you should then wax it with a good brand of car wax (Autoglym) as this protects the van from the UV rays and repels rainwater,

best regards, Martin

Well we went for a less than expensive breathable cover from Towsure. It fits well the straps are robust and it certainly keeps the van clean.

The key thing for us is we keep the van at home, so can air it regualry and make sure the cover is not flapping about, the other things is it gives the van added protection/security from nosy parkers, any passing drunk and esp with Halloween coming up idiots.

Not sure I'd be so keen if we kept it in storeage...
