Hi  I have just took out insurance with RIAS cost £59.50 for 55 days cover. I am 68 and have high blood pressure. They do multitrip up to 80 years, the phone number is 0800 068 1655.

                      Hope this helps  Vini.

70 is NOT old.

I renewed my late father's HGV licence with Swansea for him when he was 70!

The DVLA was of course a tad worried to say the least as 38 tonners don't stop on their own.....8-)

Try ALL CLEAR. Saga are rubbish. All Clear insured me (at a price) when all else failed.

Thanks once again for all the info.

As with most things it seems that money is the answer, if I pay enough, cover is out there. I still think it should be possible to get some sort of MOT (medical- not motor) and thus extend the age at which reasonable cost insurance is available.
