Helloo,

I was wondering if any of you knew of a sat nav system which was actually useful for use in N.Ireland/Ireland?

I bought a NavMan F20 a couple of weeks ago as it stated on the box 'full uk and ireland maps and postcode search' turns out the maps it featured only covered 40% of N.Ireland/Ireland, whereas It Covered near 100% of the rest of the UK.
It didn't know half the streets in the city i live in or any area other than main towns in Northern Ireland. The Ireland coverage was even worse with the maps only covering major cities such as Galway and Dublin. I also researched upgrades which you can buy in a memory card form, but the Ireland maps were similar to those loaded on the device already.

So anyway..

Anyone know of a miracle device which would actually be useful where i live? or am i destined to be confined to the crumpled medieval maps?

(the reason i need satnav is because my job requires me to travel to many remote areas in Northern Ireland which i've never even heard of!)

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

dgolf.

Hello all, i bought a Garmin C510 Deluxe, just before Christmass from halfords as they were doing  a third off deal so got it for  200, have been using it for over a month now and am continually impressed by its accuracy and detail of the maps, it has many  interesting features including a points of interest one, to be honest i have been using it for this time and day and daily i am continually amazed to discover yet more features, the online support for this product for this item is very good also, many downloadable items from the garmin site, the one i bought also has a additional extractable 256mb SD card supplied as standard so is very handy to stick in the PC card reader and upgrade items / delete them.

all in all i would recommend it to anyone looking for a mid range priced sat nav system, but one that has top of the range features( it has so many good items on it so look it up here) http://techdigest.tv/2006/11/review_garmin_streetpilot_c510_deluxe.html / it has probably the best coverage for north and south Ireland.

ps happy new year all have a great one ( looks like great weather for the upcomming season  )

pps some pricing info from the web
