Wondered if anyone has any advice on Hobby insurance. Ive got a quote off Adrain Flux Insurance, has anyone dealt with this firm or insured their van with them at all.
Welcome to UKCS bulldogfrog, have you tried using the search facility at the top of this page? Hobby insurance is often discussed on here, I`m sure you`ll find something,
Hi kev, Welcome dont really know about insurance but if its bigger than a hobby 650 dont you have to tow with a transit van or simular because over 650s is a wider van so i,m told .When you find out can you post it on here please as we have friends who rather like the larger hobby but they only have a pajero 2.5. Cheers.
I know about the regulations for towing, it is a 495 Excellent Easy and within UK limits, so no problems there. Ive searched on the forum for insurance advice but all i can really find is people arguing about legal hobbys etc. Incidently i pull my van with Shogun 3.2 Elegance.
Sorry Kev, looks like you gonna have to phone around a few insurance companies or ask greenplum looks like he ,s got a hobby.Or ask anyone else on the forum if they own one and who they go with.Someone must know what it costs. Good luck.
This is what Iposted on th eother insurance thread..
I had some hassle getting insurance for my excellent easy.
This was principally because I did not have a CRIS number. The caravan club would not insure me until I got CRIS registered but through the camping and caravanning club I got in touch with Adrian Flux who were willing to cover me till the CRIS registration came through (4 - 6 weeks). It was about £400 ish for the year but now that I am CRIS registered I may be able to look around next year for a more competitive quote.

My hubby and myself both have our car insurance with Adrian Flux and I am due to take a policy for the caravan out with them this week. We've never had any bother with them until now.
Hi The Caravan Club will only insure 540 Hobbys and under. The Caravan and Camping Club however, through Vanguard insurance, insured our (to be) new 560 and give 60 days grace to log the details with Chris and receive a Chris registration no. According to Chris this is more than enough time for them to process the relevant paperwork. They also insist on either a tow hitch lock or a wheel clamp. We decided on hitch lock, 2 wheel clamps, alarm, large chain and enourmous snarling dog as I've heard they are quite attractive to members of our travelling community........
