Hi, can anyone advise me?  I am planning to buy one of the new Porchlite XL Awnings, but am a little confused, it says they are suitable for heights 235-250cm.  I have the spec for our van but can not work out which figure I am looking at, I have,

Internal Height 1.94

Overall Height (inc optional ariel) 2.72

Awning Length ground to ground 9.80m

It is a Fleetwood Sonata Prelude 2006 model.

I hope someone can help me!

Hi CathGentry

The best way and to be sure is to measure from the top of your awning rail highest point on the caravan to the floor, if its between 235-250cm you will be fine.

Hi CathGentry,

I think you'll find the vast majority of vans awning rail heights are between 235 and 250cm.  I remember being concerned about this when I bought our Porch Awning.  I think Fleetwood would fall into this category.  Don't worry, go for it.

As long as the optional aerial is between 22 and 37 cm high, you'll be fine. I expect this sounds about right for an aerial.

Hi everyone thanks for the replies.  I tried contacting Fleetwood to ask them the awning rail height, no reply so far.  So as van is in storage and cant measure it easily, have taken your advice and gone for it.  We ordered last night.

thanks again

Hi catherine if you check the dimensions on this web site :

www.gradeuk.co.uk/assets/pdfs/315_ENG/315_ENG.pdf

the height of a status 315 antenna is 280mm so you would be fine.

Sorry not to sure which areial the fleetwood is fitted with so hope this helps.

marc
