My partner broke one hindge on our 'Stove' grill door, in our Swift caravan. I ordered a new pair of hindges from a local dealer and was told it would take six weeks to get the replacement. That was in November 2006, I was notified yesterday 30th January 2007 of it's arrival. Went to collect them. Now comes the exciting bit...cost for the 2 hindges...£20.23p. I am thinking of writing to the Guiness book of Records, surely thes are the most expensive hindgesd in the world? They are a small alloy moulded hindge which when you consider 2 for ever grill that Stoves make must cost a fraction of 1p. The moral of this tale is be very careful when use any Stoves ovens or it may cost you dearly.

Rip off!  Our plumber who I know very well reckons the replacement valve for our radiator was worth £25!  I don't think so but having battered him down £50 on the overall bill I didn't argue further.  Rip of Britain huh.  Glad you are able to mend it though.

I wanted to get an extra shelf for our caravan oven, until I found out they would charge me over £30!

Hi Vulpecula,

Compared with the £ 58 Swift have just quoted me for a Charisma  uprated mtplm plate, £20 sounds like a near bargain!!!!

All the electricians ,plumbers, builders etc have had it good for far too long,i don`t mind paying a fair price for a job but when you are quoted £100+ for a few hrs work you know you are being ripped off.Well they now have the competiton at least on the building sites were the Polish brickies will work for an honest days pay ,lets see how long they go on ripping off us customers before people realise there are other people just as if not more skilled out there who will turn up on time and do a good job for an amount of money which you do not mind paying.

I didn't buy the oven shelf.  Found we had a baking tray that exactly fitted in/between the oven shelf runners (a Prestige tray) So we are using that.
