I assume this is a Colchester model.  However I hope to view a twin axle one tomorrow. Year 1997.  End bed etc.

Has anyone got one of these about that age.  Can you tell me what you think of them and what I should look out for when Im viewing it.

Any bad points / good points

Cheers !!!

Hi, we have the much smaller 1150 model from around the same year. Check the front panel for damp, ours was repaired by the dealer before we purchased it and it was still leaking after we bought it. It took 6 months to eventually get the dealer to do the job properly, it now doesn't leak! The front panel will be exactly the same as yours. We were going to take the dealer to court and had to get an independent inspection, the guy that did it said the Fleetwood's were known for leaking from the front panel, mainly the window rubber at the bottom.

Other than that check the water heater, if it has a Maxol water heater, look behind the vent on the outside, the metal plate on ours had rusted away at the bottom, upon checking from the inside under the heater I found you could poke your finger through it to the outside of the van! I fabricated a new metal cover from tin which was cream on one side to match the colour of the caravan.

Other than that it really is a well made good quality van.
