We have cooked breakfasts when we are away in the caravan, then we find we can do without any lunch.

We also eat more or less the same as we would at home, so tend to stay clear of the old junk food!!

Its the beer and the wine that add on the "empty calories" and if taken to excess then kebabs look attractive!!

Over the last year i have tried to convince myself that you dont have to drink to enjoy yourself. - You could take some meal replacement drinks or similar as these contain the minerals and vitamins required for a balanced meal - just a thought!

We also try and grill meats etc.. and have plenty of salads etc.. and like others try and eat like we do at home as far as we can. I often have lots of grilled chicken so can still join in with the BBQs etc.. and have carbs in moderation

This is not an advert but i have been on the Lighter Life diet for 16 weeks and lost 4stone in weight! so i am living proof that generally (with usual / medical exceptions and not in any way wishing to offend anyone) you are what you eat and drink!

Hope this helps

Andy

We eat pretty much what we do at home - cereal for breakfast, sandwich and fruit for lunch, cooked meal in the evening.  Found that we had such trouble finding reasonably priced eateries at lunch time, especially with a dog in tow, that it's easier just to take sandwiches with us.  We now have a cool bag always in the boot, with container of water, cups, kettle, coffee, teabags, cupasoups, small bottle of milk, and one of those single burner gas rings in a plastic case, so we just find somewhere nice and quiet, brew up, and enjoy our lunch in the fresh air. We have paper kitchen roll to rinse and wipe the cups and clean up before we move on again. No hassle and no hubby moaning about rip-off prices in cafes etc!

Before leaving the caravan in the morning, I often put a few veg and some stewing steak or something in the slow cooker - the smell when we get back is wonderful. Then I open a can of potatoes (wouldn't dream of having them at home), sometimes bring a couple of frozen Yorkhire puds back with us from our travels, and have a meal fit for anyone.

Now the nibbles . well, that's another matter!

We also eat as we would at home. The exception is the packed sandwiches but I use caravan made low cal mayo coleslaw, lean ham and oodles of toms and rocket so its like a salad sandwich in luvverly linseed and soya bread. Breakfast = pineapple and tinned grapefruit with organic no added sugar muesli. I'm basically a fruit eating old bat, so my treats come in the form of strawberries and cherries. My luxury is San Pellegrino sparkling water cos I don't like alcohol. For some reason, we just don't fancy junk food any more so its not a problem. Its all a lot easier in France though, I just eat peaches and nectarines by the crateful.
